CND™ nail styles storm the runway for The Blonds at NYFW

Design duo, The Blonds, called upon CND™ nail stylists to create looks for their spring 2023 show at New York Fashion Week.

The fashion collection is a tribute to the first summer the designers shared, filled with escapism, glamour, and nightlife in New York City – as well as excess style. The collection features the brand’s signature over-the-top looks with golden hardware and crystals, which were dripping off the clothes and nails.

CND™ co-founder, Jan Arnold, selected nail stylists Julie Kandalec and Lavette Cephus to lead the nail looks, which were:

Dipped in chain, wrapped in chain and framed in chain

How-to:

1. Apply one coat of CND™ PLEXIGEL™ Bonder to coat the nail with a bonding base coat
2. Apply one coat of CND™ Shellac™ No-Wipe+ Top Coat followed by gold chrome powder
3. Finish with CND™ Shellac™ No-Wipe+ Top Coat for high shine and long-lasting wear
4. Using CND™ PLEXIGEL™ Builder, embellish the tips of the nails with gold chain from the designers’ pieces for Dipped in Chain / Position the chain in a continuous flow down the nail bed for Wrapped in Chain / Frame the nail using one long chain strand, and another shorter strand down the centre of the nail for Framed in Chain.

Diamond strand

How-to:

1. Apply one coat of CND™ PLEXIGEL™ Bonder to coat the nail with a bonding base coat.
2. Apply one coat of CND™ Shellac™ No-Wipe+ Top Coat followed by gold chrome powder.
3. Finish with CND™ Shellac™ No-Wipe+ Top Coat for high shine and long-lasting wear.
4. Using CND™ PLEXIGEL™ Builder, embellish the nail with a single line of diamond-encrusted chain from the designers’ pieces down the centre of the nail.

Gold studs

1. Apply one coat of CND™ Shellac™ Base Coat for a long-wearing base.
2. Apply three coats of CND™ Shellac™ in Black Pool and cure using CND™ LED Lamp.
3. Finish with CND™ Shellac™ No-Wipe+ Top Coat for high shine and long-lasting wear.
4. Using CND™ PLEXIGEL™ Builder, embellish the nail with gold studs in varying sizes and in a consistent pattern.

Solid gold

How-to:

1. Apply one coat of CND™ PLEXIGEL™ Bonder to coat the nail with a bonding base coat.
2. Apply one coat of CND™ Shellac™ No-Wipe+ Top Coat followed by gold chrome powder.
3. Finish with CND™ Shellac™ No-Wipe+ Top Coat for high shine and long-lasting wear.

Navy pearls

4. Finish with a coat CND™ Shellac™ No-Wipe+ Top Coat and cure for high shine and long-lasting wear.

Coffin neutrals

How-to:

1. Apply one coat of CND™ Shellac™ Base Coat for a long-wearing base.
2. Apply three coats of CND™ Shellac™ in Bare Chemise, Satin Pajamas, or Wooded Bliss, pending skin tone, and cure using CND™ LED Lamp.
3. Finish with CND™ Shellac™ No-Wipe+ Top Coat for high shine and long-lasting wear.
