Karen Betts, a leading permanent make-up artist, has been demonstrating her expert skills on a national platform.

As part of her affiliation with the Alex Lewis Foundation, Karen has embarked on a journey to help founder Alex Lewis, who had all four limbs amputated and part of his mouth and nose removed after contracting Strep A toxic shock syndrome.

Appearing on ITV’s Meridian News, Karen was filmed beginning reconstructive work on Alex’s lips. The young father will visit Karen once a month for the next year as she transforms his lips.

Karen, who is also co-founder of High Definition, made a separate appearance on ITV’S This Morning to discuss the perks and perils of permanent make-up. Joining presenters Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield, Karen transformed a model’s eyebrows live on television using the Microblading technique.
